At the Canvas Salon & Skin Bar we are all about working with partners that are innovative, eco-conscious and local. During unpredictable times such as now, small businesses are especially vulnerable to the costs associated with changing their business and selling models.
We touched base with some of our Columbus partners at the salon to get to know more about their business and how we can support local businesses during this time.
Red Giraffe Designs
The jewelry studio boutique with four physical locations across Columbus have had to condense their team during the closure.
It’s important to remain accessible to consumers. The business has put a focus on selling items via the Etsy store, social media feeds and limited hours for appointments and pick up only at the Short North store location.
“We’re encouraging the community to shop small.”
Additionally, the shop has created a necklace with the message “Hope Over Fear” to help spread positivity and uplift those feeling the effects of the current global climate. It’s available on a pay what you can basis, allowing customers to pay as little as $20 or as much as $60 so they can give what they’re able to on a variable scale.

Cliff Original
In 2013, Jared Friesner created his own hair pomade when he couldn’t find a natural solution. He named his business after his Grandpa Cliff.
Fast forward to 2020, Cliff Original has expanded to men’s haircare, beard care and skincare products. The business remains local and is made by hand with natural ingredients.
The company was built on the desire to support community projects and causes. In utilizing organic and natural ingredients free of chemicals and toxins, there is a confidence in what is being applied to your skin and what’s being washed down the drain.
Right now, products can be purchased on their website and are available for purchase at the Canvas Salon Retail Boutique once we reopen.
Use coupon code: canvas20 to get 20% off your order + we will give 20% of the sale to Canvas Salon.
